How to Patch your Toms Shoes

Like everyone else out there who owns a pair of TOMS shoes, the first thing to go is the front where you lovely toe nail bust through the fabric.
Most people just wear them that way, I decided to change my Toms up a little.
I actually did this at the beginning of summer, but never got a round to posting the tutorial.
Since then I have seen several others have done the same thing. Loved their versions also!!
This, is how I patched my TOMS, at the beginning of summer.
You will need
~TOMS shoes
~liquid stitch
~cloth for patching
~fabric for covering front of shoe

First you need to patch the hole in the front of your shoe, I used the black fabric pictured above. Any fabric will work.

I cut two strips of fabric then with the liquid stitch I adhered them to the shoe covering the hole.

Next I covered the front area with the lace fabric and cut the portion I needed to cover the whole area.

I started by gluing the section close to the sole first and then worked my way up to the seam on top of the shoe.

You can see the liquid stitch in this photo.

Once the entire piece of fabric was glued down I slathered liquid stitch over the entire piece of fabric and rubbed it in with my fingers.
Making sure to secure the edges down, giving it a nice seal.

Drying ( I wish they would have stayed exactly like this color wise)

Dried completely.

Thoughts on the project.

I loved the lace fabric I used to recover my TOMS, but after applying the liquid stitch it was more see through then I wanted.

If I would have known the fabric would have been so transparent I would have used a piece of red fabric to patch holes instead of black!!!?

After wearing these ALOT over the summer, I have found the liquid stitch to have held up very well, I have even washed them. Air dry only.  And the fabric is still secure with no lifting are piling.

I have received many compliments on them, and was even asked if they were a special addition.

This is a quick and easy fix, the possibilities are endless with choices of fabric available.

What I Wore...Wedding Addition

The day I wore The Perfect Dress.
After looking at more websites then I care to mention, including pinterest. I decided to look at eShakti, I had read several post about the company, and browsed their site a time or two. But this time I needed a dress, the perfect dress.

You see, for 5 months I have been planning a wedding, literally planned it, made everything for it, found location, hired photographer, planned a menu,  decorated the church and hall... you get the idea!!
And I was directing the wedding party, so I knew I would be in some type of spot light.
And for that reason I needed a perfect dress.

I was VERY nerves about ordering a dress online. At the time I was still nursing Cohen, which means my body was not the shape it would be in, in 2 months.  But I threw caution to the wind, took my measurements and ordered the dress.

When it came in I was shocked at how perfect it fit. The quality of the material is  exquisite, and it shipped from India (I love getting foreign mail). I wanted something that said, I'm not the mother of the bride, but I'm not just a friend either. And I think this dress fit that role perfectly. It was a perfect length, mid calve, so I could run around and not worry about flashing anyone. And those perfect nude pumps, KILLED my feet. I will NOT be wearing those again. There a size 8, if you want them leave a comment and we can work out some arrangements. No I am not kidding.

What I Wore...Navy Polka Dots & Stripes

Over the weekend I attended a lingerie shower, for a lady who was in our youth group.
I am also planning her wedding/ making all the decisions on decorations, because she is in the middle of nursing school.
I haven't seen her since December, and missed her terribly. I had the best visit with her, a group of her friends went and ate at Ronin a local restaurant, and then met back at the Chi Alpha House for the gift opening.

This is what I wore to the restaurant.

Dress- Loft (purchased on e-bay)
Belt- Limited ( gift)
Shoes/Watch-Target (gift)

During the week me and a few other ladies went toured the location for the wedding and reception.
Here is what I wore for that. I really liked this shirt, but after looking through these pictures I will not be wearing it again, I do not care for the length on me.

What I Wore, Dressing for my 30's

What I Wore, this week

Over the last year I have had a desire to dress more like a 30 year old and less like a teenager.
Making the transition from teen to adult is alot harder then I imagined.
One thing I have been trying to do is add more blouses to make wardrobe.
Blouse= Less T-shirts Outfit's
I had this Salmon color blouse in the goodwill pile, but this week I decided to pull it out and pair it with shorts and mustard flats. I have to say I really like it.

Shorts: Wal-Mart
Top- Limited
Shoes/Watch- Target

On Saturday Night
my daughter and I stepped out to see a play at a local high school.
"Happy Days"
The "Fonz" was there, and he kissed my daughter TWICE.

Not only did I wear a blouse, but I tucked it in, something I have not done since freshman year of highschool. And paired it with my trouser jeans, and vintage peep toes.

Blouse- Macy's
Jeans- Loft
Shoes- Goodwill
Camera Bag-Jo Totes
